The images below are from the Drowned Series. This series was influenced by a trip to Ireland. On the very spiritual isle of Aran where fishing and the sea are a way of life, families make sweaters with patterns so if a person is lost at sea they can identify the body. This brought about the idea of romantic death. Why is it that some deaths are glorified and others forgotten, horrible or simply not mentioned. Most of these pieces deal with remembrance of people's stories not told, or of recognizing one's death when it comes with open arms.
